A fun day up at Liberty Park!

Seth and Dylan are always happy to be in the water.
Lily and cousin Kate.
Dylan, Kate, Lily and Seth, and some other little kid in the background who seems to be posing for our picture too =)
Lily was so excited that she got to spend lots of time with Kate and Bram.
Bram is getting so big...he was so much fun to play with!
When we were done playing at Liberty Park, we stopped in to look at the historic Chase home, which is on the same property. The kids thought it was cool learning about the restored house and hearing a few facts about the early Pioneers who built it. Lily looks really scared in the picture...I wonder if the Gargoyle behind her is coming alive?
We had so much fun playing with auntie Jolly!
Grandpa Lance and his handsome new hat!
Dylan loves it when Kate tickles him!

Our trip to Lake Yuba

We went boating to Lake Yuba with some of our friends. It's only about a 40 minutes away  from our house, so it was a fun little "day-cation" as our kids call it. It was tons of fun and the water was beautiful!
Lily loves the water!
Seth showing off his BIG muscles, and his friend Josiah getting ready to ride the whale.

Chasing Rainbows!

The other day we had a huge rain storm, and a few minutes later we saw the most beautiful rainbow.
As soon as we saw the rainbow, the kids were convinced that we had to go find the end of the it and try to catch the leprechaun. Even though it was bedtime, we loaded them up in the car and went leprechaun hunting! After about 15 minutes we ran out of luck and the rainbow faded, but as Dylan reminded us, "He sure is fast, but next time we'll be faster!!" It was so much fun...I am so glad that my kids have such great imaginations, even when they know something isn't real, and together we can make even the smallest thing such a great adventure!

Snowflake, Arizona

Our trip to Snowflake was loads of fun! Jared had his 10 year High School reunion, so we decided to make the long trip down.
Snowflake celebrates the 24th just like Utah does, so we had the added bonus of all that fun! Their parade was awesome, I don't think the kids will ever want to see ours again after seeing this one.
Jared had a lot of fun catching up with old buddies, and the kids had a blast playing with cousins  and meeting lots of new friends.
I loved driving around town and hearing all of Jared's stories about when he was a kid...the boys particularly liked this too...and hearing about all trouble their Daddy used to get into =)
The town itself is great and feels just like home to me...I loved it! Although I was born and raised in the big city, small towns out in the country are where I am the happiest!
Scott and Sara were so awesome for putting up with us for a few days, and watching our kids so we could spend a little time alone. I think the kiddos will forever be asking for "uncle Osc to come and play."
On the way home we stopped by the Grand Canyon. I wish we could have stayed longer to really enjoy it and hike in a little deeper, but it was still great fun. There is nothing like seeing your kids experience something new for the first time! They loved it...
What an awesome trip!

Arizona, here we come!

It was a really long car ride for the kids...a little over 10 hours! They did incredible and handled the ride really well!
Finally we made it! Scott and Sara were awesome and had so many fun things for the kids to do while we stayed with them. This is Lily and uncle Scott with "Jasper" the horse.
Dylan especially loved to ride, and really took the whole "cowboy" thing very seriously while we were there. He wore this red cowboy hat everywhere he went.
Seth almost getting to a gallop. This was their first time getting to go horse back riding and they loved it! Thanks Scott for the great experience!
Jared and "Yee-haw." Dylan thought it was the perfect cowboy name, and insisted that we call him by it when ever he was wearing this red cowboy hat!
Lily is such a little water bug!
Seth, Dylan and Lily waiting for the big 24th of July parade to begin!
Lily, Dylan and Seth, enjoying splashing as much water as they could out of Scott and Sara's hot tub!
The big races at the 24th celebration! They awarded Seth 2nd place, but here is our proof that he is the winner and touched the tape first! (he's in the middle, wearing the blue shirt)
Dylan is on the far right wearing the white shirt. He was ahead the entire race, but right here at the end, he kept looking over to the kid next to him to see if was beating him and it slowed him down. He took 2nd place. It was so fun to watch both the boys race and see how fast they both are (they must get it from their dad). They were too cute, and showed really good sportsmanship!

Jared and Dylan at the parade.
Me and Lily watching the parade. Seth was having too much with his cousins to stop for a picture, taken by aunt Sara.
Fishing in the Arizona mountains with Grandpa Keith. We didn't catch anything, but had a lot of fun trying, and enjoyed the time we spent just hangin' out with Grandpa.
Dylan thought he would take a little swim...with all of his clothes on =) He later found out how cold it was to be completely soaking wet up in the mountains.
Some other fishers near by thought they would show us the snake they caught. Dylan thought it was the coolest thing ever and had no hesitation picking it right up.
Jared and the kids sitting on a piece of petrified wood. The kids thought the big, green dinosaur in the background was really neat...much more than the wood.

The Grand Canyon!

On our way home from Arizona we detoured a few hours out of our way to stop and see the Grand Canyon. It was absolutely beautiful! We had a lot of fun hiking and playing before it was finally time to head home back to Utah.
The North Rim. The weather was perfect...not to hot, but still sunny and beautiful for the hike.
Jared and Lily posing by one of the outlook view point.
Me and Dylan taking a little break. When we got to the Grand Canyon I realized that my shoes were packed in a bag at the very bottom of all of our stuff in the car, so I just decided to go barefoot. Most of the trail was paved, so it wasn't bad and I loved the feel of the warm pavement on my barefeet. Dylan joined in and took off his shoes too.
Seth and Dylan on the trail. Seth was thrilled about the new walking stick he found, but sad that it was almost time to go home.
Just chillin' out on a small ledge in the rock.
More pictures of the North Rim.
The kids thought they made good little bats hanging upside down!
